It was a nice sunny weekend (rare in UK) and we were thinking to go somewhere seaside. Initially we thought to go to Brighton but we all have been there many times so finally decided to go to Southend-on-Sea.
Southend-on-Sea, is a seaside resort town in Essex, England, on the north side of the Thames estuary 40 miles east of central London and around a 50-minute train journey. It’s a great choice for Londoners who want to escape to the coast for a day or for the weekend.
A lovely beach sandy beach is perfect for families seeking somewhere to relax away from the hustle and bustle of city, build sandcastles and go for a dip.
Southend Pier:
We took the train to the end which was good. When we get there we found just a cafe and lifeboat house. We walked back from there. The main point is that it is the world’s longest pier and the panoramic views of the town and coast are lovely.
