Yosemite National Park
Yosemite is one of the largest and most popular national parks in USA and is located in northern California. The park is recognized for its granite cliffs, waterfalls, clear streams, giant Redwood tree groves, lakes, mountains, and glaciers. The place is a heaven for nature lovers as there are a lot of activities to do. One can hike and get sights of breath taking waterfalls, bike, view some beautiful scenery or simply walk alongside the streams.
Where to Stay
The park has campgrounds, hotels and bed & breakfast available for tourists so one can choose and plan their stay accordingly. Curry village is one of the popular rental cabin available in the park. There are free shuttles driving between various campgrounds and attractions so commuting within the park is easy. Although, you have to be careful about the black bears that might come around the cabin, in case they smell food. It’s usually advised to not keep any food items in your vehicle or inside your cabin. The park provides lockers just outside individual cabins so you can put your items away.
Best time to Visit
Any season is good to visit the place and the park also has scheduled tours available that you can book for yourself. Some other activities that you can do in Yosemite also include fishing, horseback riding, river rafting, rock climbing etc. One of the most popular viewpoint in Yosemite is Glacier point. It is located on the south wall of Yosemite Valley at 980 meters above Curry Village. The point offers a superb view of several of Yosemite’s well-known landmarks including Yosemite Valley, Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, Vernal Fall, Nevada Fall, and Clouds Rest. However, the road is usually open from June through October only. In winter, Glacier Point Road closes due to snow.
